[Howto] input UTF-8 characters in GTK applications

hold-down ‘CTRL+SHIFT+u’, then input the UTF-8 character-code and then press enter.

#example for the registered trademark sign (®)
'CTRL + SHIFT + u' --> type '00AE' --> press Enter
